Managing attachments in Akeneo
Create attributes: First, create file-type attributes (e.g., pdf1, csv1_). These attributes must be added to the correct families so they appear on product records.
Add files: Open the product card, ensure it belongs to the correct family, and navigate to the attribute editing view. Select the desired attribute, such as pdf1_, and upload your file.
Sync products: Once files have been added, sync the products with AI Commerce Cloud. The files will then appear in the “Attachments” section of the product card.
Categorization: If you want to categorize attachments (e.g., “Manuals” or “Certificates”), this must be done in AI Commerce Cloud, as Akeneo does not natively support file categorization.
Important notes
In Akeneo Community Edition, each media file requires its own attribute, and you can add up to 10 files per attribute.
We recommend limiting file sizes to around 10 MB for optimal performance.
This allows you to efficiently manage multiple media files without needing a more expensive Akeneo edition or additional modules.
