We added Bundle Rules: a flexible way to control which bundle options are available based on what the customer has already selected (and in what quantity). Rules are stored per bundle option and evaluated live in the configurator, guiding customers toward compatible combinations only.
Merchant benefits
Fewer incorrect orders: incompatible choices can be disabled automatically before checkout, reducing manual corrections, returns, and support tickets.
Faster buying experience: customers no longer need to guess which components fit together—valid options remain selectable, while invalid ones are greyed out.
Works across industries:
Traffic signs: the number of selected signs can require a minimum pole length, with the “last sign” treated differently from intermediate signs.
Electrical components and assemblies: selecting multiple modules can enforce correct enclosure dimensions, cable lengths, mounting hardware, or spacing requirements.
Industrial kits and spare part sets: quantities of sub-items can constrain allowed frame sizes, brackets, or packaging requirements.
Future-proof configuration: rules are defined as JSON (per option) and can be extended with new rule types without redesigning the database schema.
What’s included
New rule types for numeric comparisons (min/max/exact) based on earlier option selections and selection counts/quantities.
The backend now returns the rule set together with the relevant product dimension fields required for rule evaluation.
