Production stores can now request a separate, tenant-specific development environment. This means each customer can have a dev environment that is a copy of their production setup — using the same components but with separate credentials and services. The dev environment allows you to experiment with new features and integrations without risking production stability.
The environment is accessible under dev.store.fi or dev.store.aicommerce.fi, and a small monthly fee applies depending on the environment’s scope and integrations. The dev setup uses separate stages, distribution, and database, and all components — including API Gateway, CloudFront, S3, Lambda, and Redis — are isolated from production.
Developers can work in a dedicated GitHub branch named yourstore-dev, and the environment supports the same IAM permissions as production. For images, the dev environment utilizes the production S3 bucket to reduce unnecessary duplication. Please note that AI Commerce Cloud does not back up development environments — responsibility lies with the developer.
The dev environment is provisioned upon request, and it can be managed either through the admin panel or via the GitHub branch. Data is not automatically transferred from production — any product data copies must be done manually.
This new feature provides a secure and controlled way to build and test innovations before moving to production — without compromising production environment stability.
