Flexible Billing Reference Requirements at Global and Customer Level

AI Commerce Cloud now supports two-level billing reference configuration.

In My Store settings, merchants can define whether a billing reference is required globally at checkout. Additionally, in the Customer Details view, billing references can be enforced for individual customers.

The configuration is restrictive: if either the global or customer-specific setting is enabled, a billing reference becomes mandatory. This allows businesses to keep billing references optional by default while enforcing them for selected customers.
