AI Commerce now supports AI-generated product descriptions with research, citations, and B2B controls
AI Commerce can now automatically generate missing product descriptions for your catalog—built for B2B accuracy, not “creative copywriting.” When enabled per category, the system selects eligible products and generates a long description (and an optional short description when missing) in your store’s default language. The AI performs web research for each product using SKU, product name, manufacturer/brand, and category context to find verifiable details.
To support auditing and operational safety, every successful run stores a source trail (citations) and a structured fact-check dataset per product. If the AI cannot produce a reliable result, the product is skipped and an error is stored so the system won’t endlessly retry. Once the error is cleared, the product can be processed again.
You can optionally restrict sources using an Allowed Domains list, and set source priorities (e.g., manufacturer first, then datasheets, then official distributors). Search is also geo-biased to EU/Finland to improve relevance. By default, processing prioritizes active and newly added products so new listings get quality descriptions first.
