Akeneo now supports updating PDF, CSV, and other attachments for products. You can manage and add various media files, such as PDF, IES, CAD, etc., to products and synchronize them to the AI Commerce platform.
Managing Attachments in Akeneo
Create Attributes: First, you need to create file attributes, like pdf1, csv1, etc. These attributes should be added to the correct families so that they are visible in the products.
Add Files: Open the product page, ensure it belongs to the correct family, and navigate to the attribute editing view. Select the desired attribute, such as pdf1, and upload the file.
Synchronize Products: After adding the files, synchronize the products to AI Commerce. The files will appear in the product card's "Attachments" section.
Categorization: If you wish to sort attachments like "Manuals" or "Certificates", this must be managed in AI Commerce as Akeneo does not allow direct file categorization.
Considerations
In Akeneo Community Edition, each media file requires its own attribute, and you can add up to 10 files per attribute.
We recommend a file size limit of approximately 10 megabytes.
Thus, you can efficiently manage multiple media files without the need for a more expensive version of Akeneo or additional modules.
