When a store uses an account activation requirement for displaying prices, an automatic notification email is sent to the customer when the merchant sets the customer's Customer Type status to any state other than "Not Selected". This means that customer account approval is necessary for them to view prices.
If the store has automatic approval or enforcement for business customers, there is no need to manually define customers as business clients. In this case, the activation notification works automatically when the customer's status type is defined.
