New weight value selection for shipping methods in AI Commerce Cloud

The setting can be adjusted under Modules > Shipping Modules, and is especially useful in cases where the “actual weight” and “volumetric (shipping) weight” of a product differ.

For example, if a product’s actual weight is 1 kg but its volumetric weight (due to packaging size) is 10 kg, the system will now, by default, use the higher value (“max”). This ensures that restrictions such as maximum allowable weight are automatically based on the most accurate shipping cost parameter.

This improvement is particularly valuable for merchants working with logistics partners who price deliveries according to volumetric weight. It enables more realistic and cost-reflective shipping calculations, reduces incorrect shipping option selections, and ultimately enhances the customer experience.
